Initial Setup
Saddle Height: Stand next to the saddle. Adjust the saddle so that the upper edge of the saddle is about 1 inch lower than the hip bone.
Handlebar Height: Adjust the height of handlebars to where they are the same height of the saddle.Â
(Those with back problems should elevate the handlebars one notch higher than beginner level).
Saddle to Handlebar: Position the elbow so that it is touching the tip of the saddle. The fingertips should touch the middle of the handlebars where the two sides meet at mid-point.
Saddle Height: Sit on the bike with one foot on top of the pedal. Turn the pedal to where it is at 6 oâclock. The leg should be fully extended with a slight flexion of the knee. The heel of the foot is on the pedal. If the hip slants downwards to the side of the extended leg, lower the saddle one notch. If the hips lift away from the saddle, then raise the saddle one notch.
